Robert Eagle Fine Art

Elm at Fresden
David Rolt

A classic Rolt treescape.  The artist developed a strong affinity with Britain's elm trees when they became threatened with extinction through the Dutch Elm disease.  This tree appears in more than one of his works and was painted while the artist was living in the hamlet of Fresden on the Berkshire/Wiltshire border.

This painting has recently been acquired by the Swindon Museum and Art gallery
