Bratby, Bellany, Smith, Rolt, Wheaton, Granger-Taylor take pride of place
A collection of recent work by Nicolas Granger-Taylor, first shown in May at our pop-up gallery in Walton Street, Chelsea, can now be seen at our Chiswick gallery. Nicolas is renowned for his nude studies, portraits and meticulously executed still lives. More than 20 of his works are on show here at Marborough Road.
Bold, eye-catching works by John Bratby and John Bellany feature large among our recent acquisitions. An impressive selection of David Rolt's treescapes and portraits occupies the drawing room gallery, and large works in oil by Stan Smith hang in the hall.
The Bratby pictures include a large, vivid painting of Venice and an even larger - and truly startling - study of a gorilla surrounded by a troupe of monkeys and apes. The Bellany works have been acquired with the enthusiast collector in mind. They include The Bellany Sextet, a complete set of large aquatints, and a selection of striking images of the artist and his surgeons created during his stay in Addenbroke's hospital.
And from November we are featuring a selection of lively, large format figure studies by Judy Wheaton, whose first public exhibition in London will be held in January 2015. Grab this opportunity to get to the front of the queue!
An antidote to the "white cube", our gallery is a place where you can see fine pictures in a place that feels like home.
